This product can be used as a mulch or dug into any soil to improve the level of nutrition available to plants. If you're making a raised bed it would be a good idea to use some screened topsoil and some mushroom compost at a ratio of 2 or 3 parts topsoil to 1 part mushroom compost.
Please Note: this should not be used with acid loving plants such as azaleas, camellias, heathers or rhododendrons as this product contains lime.
