It has a beautifully smooth finish, with a closely interlocked grain in the wood. The slatted back, the rounded arms, the curved arch at the back – they all tick that quintessentially English brief. If you want to leave this bench outdoors during all weathers, it’ll mellow down to a silver grey appearance over time.
